Zombies are awesome. As such you would assume that a game like Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City would be a zombie apocalypse wet dream for me, and thankfully it is. Resident Evil II saw Leon and Claire, basically due to their own ineptitude and sense of what is right, trapped in Raccoon city with a population of zombies. On their mini-break from the hub-bub of the working week they happen upon a slew of characters including Sherry.
Sherry is a little brat with a whiny voice that grates my very soul, her father has created for the underground Umbrella Corporation a bio-weapon called the G-Virus. Through the course of Resident Evil II you find out that Sherry is on the search for her father but it turns out a secret ops team were sent by Umbrella Corporation to find him and take away the G-Virus, enter The Wolf Pack stage left.
You build a squad of four from a selection of six characters — each with their own speciality and technique for some extra murdering. If playing solo you can choose the team, their weapons, and which passive and active abilities they take into the field. The characters all have their own personalities which are shown in quite clever cut-scenes, the personalities range from dick to arse-hole. Little touches like this encourage replaying the game, however it is not the main incentive.
For me, other than the story and general shooty fun, the main reason to replay this game is XP. In this game XP is used to buy new weapons and upgrade characters abilities. Abilities however are a must in terms of spending your XP.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Gets a Much Needed Patch
Single player games are becoming rarer by the day, with most developers now offering distinctly different solo and multiplayer experiences in their games. One of the popular exceptions to this rule has always been the PlayStation exclusive God of War series. Now though, according to Gamespot , Sony may just be looking into taking Kratos into the multiplayer realm as well. The latest entry in the series, the PS3’s God of War III, was slated to be the finale in the series, although it did leave the possibility of a sequel.
And when you have successful PSP games and such a huge fanbase, a multiplayer God of War 4 may be just around the corner.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a third-person tactical shooter able to play with or against their friends and matchmaking opponents.
The notes, as rounded up by Capcom’s community manager on Capcom Unity :. As for Street Fighter x Tekken, this latest patch is the promised mid-June update, and fixes the game-breaking Rolento bug. Things of course do not go smoothly, and the team is then directed to cover-up any trace of Umbrella activity. There are some real negatives to the game, so I want to at least point out what I really liked about the game. First things first: the game is pretty fun. I played the campaign both alone and in co-op mode, and the initial run took me about five hours total.
Free Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City DLC Next Week For those stuck in matchmaking you do not need hard reset the PS3, for one thing ORC was an awesome concept and it has the potential to be a lot more fun.

Other GamePeople columnists have reviewed this from their perspective – huh? Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City spectacularly misses the point of the Resident Evil series, resurrecting favourite moments from earlier games as shambling cover-based shootouts.
What does the Resident Evil series mean to you? The jolt of terror as a zombie dog crashes through a window? The building tension as you walk down a dimly lit corridor? The heart-hammering thrill of fighting off Ganados as they swarm in through the windows of a broken down house? Here’s one it’s unlikely to be: the sheer tedium of hiding behind a box and exchanging bursts of gunfire with a generic special forces soldier who is hiding behind another box about twenty feet away.

In most video games, you are treated with a final battle, a final encounter that will conclude the journey you’ve invested hours in. A lot can be quite epic that leaves you goosebumps after your done, but a lot can make you go “That’s it?! That’s what this Pick 5 is all about this week. Final boss battles that were simply disappointing. You’ve been warned, but if you don’t give a damn, by all means..
I had a great time with Halo 4.

The game will start off in the underground laboratory where you try to take the G-Virus from Dr. William Birkin which fans of RE2 will recognize. Why was your team asked to tackle the assignment? Where did they come from? Did Slant Six forget to add in an extra cutscene that describes what happens after you make your choice? To be blunt, I commend Slant Six for trying to tie in the scenarios of RE2 and RE3 but the script is way too amateurish and just plain dull.
RE: ORC takes the gameplay mechanics of a standard third-person tactical shooter and places them into the Resident Evil universe. In theory, that sounds like an interesting concept. First off, matchmaking is simple and partnering up with friends is quite easy. All the characters are tailored to having specific traits which is cool, but again, nothing that makes a character stand out over anyone else.
Want to change your equipment after readying up? Either sit through the entire level until you beat it and get the chance to change equipment then or quit out of the matchmaking and be re-invited. No can do.

This brings us to Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City or ORC, and I actual friends to play with, because matchmaking (even for campaign.
You have an expiration date and even the smallest mistake can bring your inevitable demise even closer. On the opposite end of this is Operation Raccoon City, which rewards you for being reckless and going in guns blazing. It arms you to the teeth with powerful weapons, grenades, and special abilities, and then on top of that your allies excluding AI partners can revive you as soon as you go down. Outbreak pleases the longtime fans who are nostalgic for the old days when puzzles, horror, and atmosphere were all trademarks of the series.
There we go. This could mark the beginning of a revolution for video game titles. That means a lot of puzzles that actually require teamwork to solve. I think the nostalgic romps through locations seen in past entries should stay with this spin-off, primarily because it just felt weird returning to the Raccoon City Police Department with assault rifles and three friends, but also because fans of the series are going to flock to this.
In the first two you could find supplies, like wood planks and a nail gun, and it gave you the choice to use the nail gun as a weapon or to use it to barricade a door. This would open up new possibilities for the characters as well, giving each character another special trait to make them play more uniquely. A character like David could craft some sort of makeshift healing station that George could use to treat wounds.

It was the first Resident Evil game to extend beyond a series of claustrophobic interiors, presenting a then-stunning depiction of the chaos that ensued throughout Raccoon City following the T-Virus outbreak depicted in the previous game. Plus, it added welcome new action-oriented elements to the Resident Evil blueprint. As such, it set strong foundations for the franchise to endure as long as it has. That means the Resident Evil 3 remake is far from a slavish frame-by-frame reconstruction of the original game.
We played two chunks of hands-on gameplay with the Resident Evil 3 remake: about two hours of the single-player storyline, along with a number of matches in Resident Evil Resistance, a rare and, for once, competent multiplayer take on Resident Evil that will be bundled with the single-player game for free. In the original game, Raccoon City was presented merely as a set of pre-rendered backgrounds. But this is the 21st century, so as in the previous remake it now uses an approach closer to Resident Evil 4, with an over-the-shoulder camera view.
Even ignoring the change in perspective, the graphics are superb, with the characters and zombies looking better than any previous entry and the game making much use of visual tricks like depth of focus.
